The 2021 Paul Fowler Invitational Platform Tennis Tournament will be played on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Play will be throughout the day at 16 different clubs across Fairfield County. Details below...
One-day event on Saturday March 13, 2021. Seven simultaneous Tournaments, one for each League Division.
Draws will be 16 teams per Division. The format is designed to provide all participants a minimum of three (3) matches.
In the case of more than 16 teams, additional 8-team or 16-team draws may be created subject to court availability and enough players
Both players must be from the same club. Players must register for the appropriate Tournament (Divisions 1 to 7) based on the Division you played in most frequently this season. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust a team's division of play based on tournament response and player ability.
APTA rules apply. Best 2 of 3 sets. Standard tiebreak at 6 all. For the first two rounds only, if you split sets, the winner will be determined by playing a “Super tiebreaker” in lieu of a third set – first to win 10 points, must win by 2 points.
Various FCPTL Clubs. All of your morning matches will be played at one club location. You will be contacted regarding which club to report to.
Play begins: 8:00 AM for Divisions 1-7. Finals: from 1:00 PM.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of all four draws and finalists in the Main Draw. Instructions will be provided for players to receive their prizes.
LUNCH & AWARDS PRESENTATION
Due to Covid-19, there will be no luncheon or awards presentation this year.
SPECTATORS & HEALTH GUIDELINES
Due to Covid-19, there will be no spectators allowed at tournament venues. Players are expected to comply with all health and safety guideliness of host clubs.
$150 per two-man team.
ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS
Only one player per team needs to complete the on-line registration. They will pay the full fee and collect half from their partner. Cancellations are strongly discouraged. Any registration canceled before February 20th will be refunded ONLY if a wait-listed team can be added to the tournament. REFUNDS FOR CANCELLATIONS AFTER February 20th WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE FCPTL BOARD.
Everyone will play 3 matches at a single venue before lunch. Players in 16-team draws: if win your third match, you will have a fourth match in the afternoon.
